Choose your Console or Bin

Decide if you would like to Buy or Rent your Bin/Consoles

Documentshredding can provide bins or consoles throughout the office area. These consoles or bins can be rented on a monthly basis or bought from Documentshredding. We provide an option for on-site or off-site shredding depending on the client’s needs. The bins or consoles have a secure lock to ensure documents cannot be removed without a key.

STEP 3

Choose Where You Would Like the Documents to be Shredded!

  • Option 1: On-site

    • Documentshredding will send a closed truck to your premises for pick-up.
    • Documentshredding personnel will load the documents in confidential wheelie bins.
    • The bins will be locked and sealed and you will receive a pick-up document with the seal numbers noted.
    • On arrival at our premises, the seals will be documented and broken under surveillance.
    • Files will be decanted and plastic removed before the shredding process commences.
    • Documents will then be shredded.
    • After shredding you will receive a certificate of destruction and a final invoice by e-mail.
  • Option 2: Off-Site

    • Documentshredding will send a truck with a shredding machine to your premises. The truck and shredding machine will vary in size depending on the number of documents to shred.
    • We require big enough space for the truck and an electrical point for the shredders. A normal electrical plug will be enough.
    • Documentshredding employees will sort the paper, remove the plastic and decant files and shred the documents in the truck.
    • After shredding the shredded paper will be removed.
    •  A final invoice will then be sent by e-mail if you require a certificate of destruction.

Summary Of The Protection Of Information Act (POPI Act)


The POPI Act, naturally has an impact on how personal information is destroyed, in line with its goal of keeping personal information out of the wrong hands. The Act does not require any specific proof of the destruction of records however, it does require that the method of destruction prevents the records from being reconstructed in a way that makes it accessible. Legally, this allows companies to still utilise office-based shredders, however, what it does not give them is safety of a Certificate of Destruction which shredding companies like Documentshredding offer, which means that if a dispute were to arise, there wouldn’t be any evidence that the records were destroyed correctly.
